Sales Account Manager

General Summary

We’re looking for motivated and hardworking Sales Account Managers. UPM is growing and we need of Sales Account Managers to grow our customer base even more. We are adding capacity to the plant and improving our marketing efforts. This position coordinates and confers directly with the President.

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Operate as the lead point of contact for any and all matters specific to your customers
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships of existing customers and secure new customers by means of visiting the customer facility or contacting by phone, e-mail, or internet
  • Develop a trusted advisor relationship with key customer stakeholders and executive sponsors
  • Ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and objectives
  • Communicate clearly the progress of monthly/quarterly, and annual sales initiatives to internal and external stakeholders
  • Forecast and track key account metrics
  • Identify and grow opportunities within territory and collaborate with sales teams to ensure growth attainment
  • Assist with high severity requests or issue escalations as needed
  • Work as project manager for new projects by being the conduit between the customer, UPM, and all suppliers involved in the project

Physical Demands

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four – year college or university; two to four years related experience and training:  or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Must have the ability to negotiate with all levels of a customer’s staff.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.


Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
