UPM was founded in 1962 by Ray Dowling and two partners with the belief they could service their customers better than anyone else. Ray remains as the sole owner at this time. UPM started as just a few machines in a garage and in a few years grew into a respectable small business. By giving their customers excellent service UPM continued to grow. As the business grew, the small buildings UPM was operating from were too small. UPM moved to its current location in 1978 which has undergone several expansions.
Now a full service, privately held custom injection molder serving the automotive, pool and spa, agricultural, and electronics industries, UPM is one of the largest injection molders on the west coast. With 100,000 square feet of production space, UPM processes over 30 million pounds of resin each year and has 160 employees. Our company strives for continuous improvement and is not satisfied until our customer's are.
